Overview:
As a traffic control specialist, you will partner with contractors to provide traffic control within work zones in accordance with all state and local regulations. This position requires team work, attention to detail and strict adherence to safety standards and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Use a stop/slow paddle and various required signs to safely direct traffic through work zones in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Communicate with team members using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane.
- Continuously monitor and communicate with the customer regarding any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
- Install and remove traffic cones, advanced warning and detour signs for the work zone in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Complete required daily site diary for both DCI and the customer
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to complete online or in person certification through the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions; heat, sun, cold, rain etc.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional observation skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift 50LBs
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

Schedule:
- Shift can range from 8-12 hours per day
- Shift can start in early morning hours

- NYS Driver's License (Required) with clean driving history
